Meet our Owner/Manager Joanne Crowe

Joanne Crowe is the owner of Crowe's Nest Farm, and is a thoroughbred breeder as well as registered nurse. She was the 4th generation of her family raised on a farm in southern Ohio. So she comes by her love for horses naturally. When she was younger, Joanne showed quarter horses and earned many titles in AQHA shows throughout Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia and Kentucky.

Joanne worked 7 years as a vet tech before graduating from Miami of Ohio with her degree in applied Science and School of nursing. Joanne has over 30 years as a RN in the Emergency department and Recovery room.

She moved to Ocala in 1993, drawn to the area due to its reputation as the "Horse Capital of the World". Once in Ocala, she learned more about the thoroughbred industry and began breeding and raising the foals.

Crowe's Nest Farm has been incorporated since 1996. Today, we still breed thoroughbreds on a smaller scale and run a facility specializing in equine rehab and retirement horse boarding.

We love being that tranquil setting for older retired horses to peacefully and comfortably live out their days. The atmosphere at CNF is ideal for older horses, providing calm surroundings and specialized care. Race horses, show horses, broodmares, yearlings, and weanlings, all find relaxation in the pastures and paddocks at Crowe's Nest Farm.
